This is the last day of Kwanzaa, which is Imani: Faith. With each generation there is the faith that what we educate our youth with integrity, cultural traditions, and recipes. My mother made bread, wine, soap, clothes, etc.....oh yeah and there was a yogurt period. She was always exploring something, but bread was something she was remembered for, "I sure do miss your Moms biscuits" my neighbor laments.
Even though I don't bake, she had faith that her recipies for life would carry me through. Which is why I love this video of Grandma Martha Cooking with her Grandson. It's more of the connection that he has to his elder that makes this beautiful.
