Another Random Out of Order Post: Lindsay Park Halloween Party

In Building #2 our Halloween Parties were memorable.  There must have been at least 50+ kids at the party along with adults.  Some costumes were store bought, but many were created by makers who were extraordinary creatives.  There was candy, cake, and OMG Food.....and then it was over.  In one of the other buildings (there are 7 altogether), there was a problem and because of that the parties were over and we could only give out candy in the lobby.  It was a disappointment for the kids and adults.

Until now, thanks to Greta Hunter who made an impassioned plea....however all 7 buildings needed to have volunteers or no building could have a party.....we (LP residents) got organized and all 7 buildings had a party.

The  attendance to our building (#2) party was waaaaay down from the 50+ from yester years, but the fun was up...way up for the children who did attend.  One thing for sure, they had room to ruuuuuun off that candy high!

As a kid this was my go to, keep me quite toy.  I had loads of fun trying to make curves, but most of my pictures were line variations.  To see some AMAAAAAZING Etch a Sketch art click here.

Where People Work/ Evil Olive Pizza Bar

Evil Olive Pizza Bar  in Williamsburg Brooklyn has had an up hill battle.  Prior to settling on a Pizza shop the location was a Bar/Club (don't remember the name), but that didn't work.  Then it was a coffee shop with wi/fi and I even stopped by for some coffee, but that too came and went.

Then Evil Olive Pizza Bar was born and the neighborhood is supporting him, including the Police and Fire Station which is right across the street.  It has become a regular stop for many who hop off the G train before they go home.

The other day Evil Olive was apart of a the reality show genre, with the taping of the Hungry Invester.  Bar Rescue Jon Taffer and Top Chef Tiffany Derry team up on a cross country search for a restaurant with potential.  Episodes feature two restaurants that compete in a challenge to prove to the experts that their business is the one to invest in.

I don't know if Evil Olive has won the competition, but it was a real joy to see the restaurant filled with hungry neighbors giving this business a boost.

What I did this summer continues with Lindsay Park Old Timer's Day.....

Lindsay Park Co-Op isn't without problems.  From politicians, the board, and/or management, we've had our share of angst, but Lindsay Park Oldtimers Day is about LoveOn this day in August neighbors (including former residents), come to the "Big Park" and celebrate.

Architectural Digest Show 2013

It's that time of year again, The Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94 2013.  It did not disappoint.  Filled to the rim with ideas to like, love, and lust for.

Bose had a display and for this system that they are looking at figure on spending about $4000.  The system is pretty incredible, and there were no external speakers on this TV.

He is the Artist who paints on the Stienway Pianos and yes his tie is like that.

Ummmmm, yeah it's a Urinal

When I asked the artist, was there a request from American Girl for some modern furniture.  He said it actually came from his 8 year old.  She helped in the design and this piece was already sold.  Maybe some more pieces coming......sorry forgot to get his name.

Chocolate Kiss wall, we were incouraged to pick a kiss from the wall.  As the chocolates were picked, you can see the texture of the wall change.

Sweet ending to a sweet day
Hope you enjoyed the tour.
